The Hot New Amenity

Park Slope

Stroller Valet
March 22, 2016

In a sure sign that The Great New York City Amenities Race has completely lost touch with reality, developers of an 11-story luxury condominium in Park Slope, Brooklyn, have announced that they’ll offer valet baby stroller parking and and storage space for 50 of the little chariots.

Residents will be able to call down to the lobby attendant to request that their stroller be ready whenever they’re in the mood to join the stroller gridlock on the sidewalks of Park Slope. Guests will also be able to park their strollers in the storage room, The New York Times reports.

The concept was the brainchild of Brendan Aguayo, the managing director of Halstead Property Development Marketing, which is handling sales for the 44-unit building at 251 First Street. “As far as I know,” Aguayo says, “we’re the first to offer an amenity like this on this scale.”

The building’s other amenities will include Gaggenau kitchen appliances, Marvel wine refrigerators, Bosch washers and dryers, white marble bathrooms, a pet-grooming station, a rooftop lounge, a party room, a fitness center with a yoga room, and, in a nod to the distant past, bike storage.
