New Benchmarking Report Deadline Approaching for Covered Buildings in NYC

The city has released the 2024 Local Law 84 Covered Buildings Benchmarking List (bit.ly/CBL24). All properties on the list are required to submit a benchmarking report with 2023 data to the city by May 1. Once your report is ready, upload the 2024 Reporting Template (bit.ly/24ReportTemplate) to your Energy Star Portfolio Manager account and follow the 2024 Submission Instructions (bit.ly/24SubInstructions).

To get started, go to bit.ly/ComplianceInstr. If you need help, contact the CNYC Sustainability Help Center at help@nycsustainability.org or 212-566-5584.

Con Edison’s redesigned Building Energy Usage Portal (bit.ly/ConEdPortal) is now live. If your property is on the Covered Buildings List for Local Law 84 or Local Law 97, your data is already in Portfolio Manager. For properties that are new to benchmarking or are part of the Department of Housing Preservation and Development, data was scheduled to be available in Portfolio Manager by the end of March.

For guidance, refer to the Building Energy Usage Help section in the Con Edison portal. You can also send questions to citybenchmarking@coned.com.

Properties previously shared with Con Edison, National Grid and the Department of Environmental Protection have already received 2023 consumption data in Portfolio Manager. Boards should review the uploads for data accuracy.

If your property is not shared with the utilities, email help@nycsustainability.org.
