Two Law Firms Tie the Knot

Midtown

Lawyer Merger
June 2, 2016

Rosen Livingston & Cholst, a boutique law firm that represents more than 200 co-op and condo boards and Homeowners Associations in the New York area, announced on Wednesday that it’s merging with the national law firm of Anderson Kill, which specializes in insurance coverage disputes.

“What’s really good about the merger – and the reason we did it – is because it enhances our ability to service our clients,” Bruce Cholst, a partner in Rosen Livingston & Cholst, told Habitat. “There’s an immediate synergy. For instance, Anderson Kill’s strength is insurance recovery, and we very often have insurance issues with our clients. I’m looking forward to what will no doubt be a big change.”

Robert Horkovich, Anderson Kill’s managing shareholder, called Rosen Livingston & Cholst “a New York institution,” adding that “we look forward to working with them to offer our clients and theirs a broader array of legal services.”

All of Rosen Livingston & Cholst’s 10 attorneys are joining Anderson Kill, six of them as shareholders, as are the firm’s paralegals and support staff. They’ll be moving Friday from their offices at 275 Madison Avenue into Anderson Kill’s offices in Rockefeller Center. In addition to its New York headquarters, Anderson Kill has offices in Philadelphia; Newark, N.J.; Washington, D.C.; Ventura, Ca.; and Stamford, Ct. The firm employs a total of 80 lawyers.
