L & Z Restoration of Brooklyn is installing a new cold fluid-applied reinforced roof with a new pedestrian-grade surfacing; replacing cornices; building a new brick chimney; refurbishing skylights; replacing bluestone coping segments; installing a new railing system on the parapets; replacing metal fire-rated doors on the bulkheads; replacing defective brickwork and repointing mortar joints; refurbishing fire escapes; replacing aluminum cladding along the bulkheads; replacing rooftop exhaust fans; and installing new air flow regulators on exhaust ducts. Rand Engineering & Architecture prepared the construction documents, obtained the Department of Buildings and the Landmarks Preservation Commission work permits, and is providing construction administration.

Rand's Ivan Mrakovcic is the project architect. Board Member Candy Kugel is overseeing the $400,000 project, which began in September and is scheduled for completion spring 2008.
