Flag Waterproofing & Restoration has installed two of its privately owned, 160-foot high motorized mastclimbers to access the removal and replacement of the existing terra cotta and brick parapet walls, defective brickwork, brickwork mortar joints, deteriorated corners, terra cotta balconies, window sills and window perimeter caulking. All steel fire escapes are being scraped, primed and painted. All steel lintels throughout the building façades were removed and replaced. All terra cotta elements were sounded out and repaired and/or replaced with new terra cotta units. The main and bulkhead roofs will be removed and replaced with a new Siplast roofing system, including asbestos abatement of the existing flashings. The firm of Robert A. Lenahan, Architect prepared the construction documents and is providing construction administration services. Anthony Colao Jr. is project manager for Flag Waterproofing. Additionally, Building Manager Mary Aslan of Golson Realty Corp., 1841 Broadway in Manhattan, is overseeing the $2.5 million project, which began in September 2006 and is scheduled for completion in July 2008.
