Steam Service Repair: 30 East 65th Street
30 East 65th Street, a 17-story, 67-unit cooperative in the Upper East Side Historic District of Manhattan, recently completed a Con Edison steam service...
...repair project. Stellmar Plumbing installed a new steam-flash/dilution tank and a new domestic hot water heater, installed a new exhaust fan for improved ventilation, replaced existing steam-pressure relief valves.installed new insulation on the new hot water heater, piping, valves and fittings, and applied a new vapor-barrier coating on all-new coldwater piping insulation. Rand Engineering & Architecture prepared the construction documents, obtained Con Edison approval and Department of Buildings and Landmarks Preservation Commission work permits, and provided construction administration. Rand’s Joseph Menasce was the project engineer. Robert Grant of Midboro Management oversaw the $130,000 project, which began in September 2007 and was completed in December.
