HVAC Upgrade: 201 West 21st Street
201 West 21st Street, a 14-story, 130-unit cooperative located in the Chelsea section of Manhattan is upgrading its HVAC ("heating, ventilating and air conditioning") system....
...Stellmar Plumbing is replacing the heating/chilled water-circulating pumps and installing new expansion tanks and air separators, new air vents, a new air-handling unit to serve the public corridors, an outdoor condensing unit, a new circuit- breaker load center and all associated refrigerant lines, insulation, ductwork and wiring. Rand Engineering & Architecture conducted a survey of the HVAC system, prepared the construction documents and is providing construction administration. Rand’s Joseph Menasce and Young Suh are the project engineers. John Czajkowski of New Bedford Management is overseeing the $188,000 project, which began in August 2007 and was scheduled for completion in December.
