Kelley Hulk Kombo Dock

Able to lift up to 20,000 pounds with the 10- and 12-foot-long models, and up to 12,000 pounds with the 8-foot-long model, the Hulk Combo Dock, from the Kelley division of the Texas company 4Front Engineered Solutions, has two motors — a 7.5 horsepower life motor and an independent 1 HP leveler motor — and a 12-control panel that adheres to NEMA (National Electrical Manufacturers Association) standards. There's also a remote push-button hand control.

Safety features include an interior warning light and an audible alarm, plus a velocity fuse — a device that controls the speed of hydraulic fluid and shuts off when the fluid's moving too fast, thereby stopping the hydraulic leveler and lift. And if you're concerned about energy savings, as who among us isn't, there's an option called Energy Guard that seals the sides and rear of the unit to keep out dirt, debris and insects and to prevent the transfer of heat and energy.

If you're in a hulk-sized co-op or condo and your staff does a lot of heavy lifting, this new hybrid product is something to consider. Otherwise, you might get your staff angry. And you wouldn't like them when they're angry...!
